The Track Season is Approaching

With spring attempting to come, although we are expecting a 12" plus storm on Wednesday... Comes the great sport Track. I love Track for two reasons. It prepares me for football, and It is not a team sport, which means you cannot blame anyone else for failure. All you have to blame is yourself. The two events that i do in track  is discuss, the one where you throw the Frisbee thing, and pole vault. The one where you run with a long stick and attempt to spring yourself over a certain height, and pray to god that you pole does not snap and impale you. Track is a pretty laid back sport and there is only about 5 or six meets. Last year was my first year ever trying pole vault, It took me awhile to get the form down, which still is not perfect, but i was getting the right idea. My first attempt ever at pole vault was a absolute disaster. I was on the runway, Ready to attempt the 5 foot mark. I began to run and pick up speed. I planted the pole in the pit and began to spring up, up, up and strait back down, right on my head. I hit my head so hard i thought I literally poo'ed in my skivvies. I was now terrified to ever try it again. Until, my 90 year old pole vault coach (not exaggerating) told me i was 12 feet in the air. This kind of made me a little horny... It gave me a lot of confidence that I might actually be a natural at this sport! Sp i kept practicing and i actually placed 3rd at Regionals and 5th at the State meet. all in all it was a really good year and my final jump in the state meet was 9'6". Last year season was only my first time ever trying pole vault and i had good outcome on the season, so i am really excited for what this years season and next years season has in store for me. Hopefully i can make it to states again and try my best to win.
