What it takes to play Football
When i step onto the fresh cut field at 7 p.m. on a Friday night and i smell grass and concession food, i know it can only mean one thing, Football. Football has been a part of my life since i started in 1st grade. Back then of course it was flag football. And i slowly worked my way up the chain of awesomeness. From flag it went to 3 and 4th grade tackle then popawarnar, to Middle school 7th and 8th, and finally to High school football. High school football was a totally different story than any other grade of football i had been through. It evolves from playing with boys to playing with men. When you see a 220 pound 6'2" man running at you full speed its a little intimidating to think that "wow i need to run full speed into that thing?!" but, that is the name of the game. For me, this is a adrenaline rush. I love getting on the field on opening kick off and flying down the field like a wild maniac just to know i get to light someone up. In order to be good in football, you have to train vigorously. Which means practices in the middle of summer sometimes in excess of three hours in the middle of the day. Also, the weight room becomes your second home. For example, I have been in the weight room, preparing for this years season every week. I have set personal goals for myself to set before the season starts. When you set personal goals it gives you something to work for, and to keep pushing yourself for. My one major goal for this years football season is to win the state championship. Not just make it to states, But actually win it. All in all, football is my favorite sport because of the work you put into it, an deliver such memorable moments that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

You did a really good job on this one, Luke. I haven't played for four and a half years and this took me right back to it.
